Relational Librarianship @ Your Library

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Expanding on Keegan Osinski’s essay about New Librarianship in the Theological Library from the March 2015 issue of Theological Librarianship, this session will explore practical ways for librarians to get out of the library and into the communities they serve, becoming embedded and engaged in the educational processes of their schools while fostering a relational approach to librarianship.

We will discuss what “relational librarianship” is, talk about concrete examples of what it looks like, and consider why this approach is appropriate in our rapidly changing fields of higher education and theological/religious studies. The session will be in the form of a Conversation Group and participants will be encouraged to share their own ideas and experiences on ways to enhance “relational librarianship” in their own library contexts.
