OCLC Update Breakfast: Using Data to Evaluate the Future of Print Collections - Sustainable Collection Services and GreenGlass – RSVP Required

To remain relevant, libraries must constantly balance their historical strengths with demands for new collections and services. Today, the role of local print collections is changing, as space used to house books is being repurposed for collaborative study, maker spaces, and room for more users. Libraries are evaluating their print monographs and determining which materials to retain, share, or withdraw, which enables them to support traditional and evolving user needs and use space more effectively.  Sustainable Collection Services provides key data to analyze, manage and share print monographs. In this session, after a brief update from Paul Cappuzzello on OCLC WorldShare Management Services (WMS), Craig Johnson will discuss the challenges of managing print collections, introduce Sustainable Collection Services (SCS), share stories of how ATLA libraries are finding value in SCS projects from both an individual library perspective and a group perspective, and provide a short demo of GreenGlass, the decision support application that comes with an SCS project.  He’ll also discuss a new incentive program, the third offering in the partnership between ATLA and OCLC.

Link to RSVP will be sent in a separate email invitation.
